night blogging

Phew. This was a busy weekend. What better way to relax tonight than write a blog post while sipping some hot mint tea.

Bob's makes my favorite candy canes. They are always pretty and yummy and are tops for making peppermint bark. Here are a bunch in a pot meant for a plant. (I use these little pots all over my home for almost everything but plants!) I love how red looks when paired with pale blue.

I love how our Christmas tree looks at night. Sure it's a tight fit but all the more cozy!

Here is my oldest lighting the Chanukah candles. We celebrate both Christmas and Chanukah. My youngest wants us to celebrate Kwanzaa this year, too.

I took part in this fun swap hosted by Sarah at My So Called Junky Life. I was partnered with the superawesome M and am excited to show you what the beglittered one sent to me. I will save writing that post for when I am more awake.

Sweet dreams

xo

I love it all, Elyse--especially the crowded-in tree! I love turning off all the lights in my house and just walk from room to room looking at all my Christmasy areas lit up...what joy!

Now I need to go get myself some hot chocolate since you suggested it! Just starting me "night blogging" now, too--already did my post earlier...time to visit!

Hope you're having a lovely, cozy night!

I love Bobs candy canes too. I have tried the rest and yuck they are all awful. We can only find Bobs at one drugstore in our area. We always buy about 10 boxes of them.

I too am up late and sipping some chamomile tea. It has been a rainy damp day here.

Your tree looks great.

The first year we decided to embrace both celebrations instead of having it be determined by what family was visiting my daughter was 2 1/2. She wanted to light the menorah and blow them out like birthday candles and sing happy birthday 5 or so times per night. I didn't think my mom was going to take to this creative addition but in true grandmother fashion she thought it was the cutest thing she had ever seen.

Have a lovely time with family as a special time of year.

Hi, Elyse! Ah-ha! So there was a pink swap in blog land this year! Wish I would have found it in time!

Your living room with your tree looks fab! (Do any of your ornaments get knocked of by hurrying boys?)

I love the little pink cottage - so pretty. Our tree is making our den extremely cozy, in both the good and the not-so-good ways. Your son looks so sweet lighting the candles. I love that you celebrate both traditions - my best friend does, too.

How did the sale go? I hope well! I was thinking of you. And yes, some members of my family call me Claud, and some call me Claudie! My dear brother, who I miss every day, called me Claud or even 'Claud the broad!'

Hey, can I pretty please TRY one of those candy canes? I am trying to find the kind I had last year that blew my socks off. And I have no idea where to start.
I'll trade you for a connect the dots?
