beachy keen

Look what arrived in the mail!

I recently won this very cool sand dollar pendant painted by Ruth Welter at a blogiversary giveaway at Barbara Jacksier's blog, The Book Blog.

In The Book Blog, Barbara shares experiences of having her first book published. Awesome.

Barbara's book, Waterside Cottages will be available in stores in July but you can pre-order a personalized (!) copy here at Barbara's new website, Waterside Cottage Styles.

The website has a wonderful pale and breezy feel to it and is full of beautiful images, recipes for coastal cuisine, decorating ideas, home tours and more.

{I think I want to begin collecting these little tin sand pails!}

I love the relaxed feel of a beach cottage and hope that shows throughout my home. Especially the living room and bathroom which are filled with shades of blues, baskets, and jars of shells and sea glass.

Design elements from the bathroom

I'm all pre-ordered for personalizin' and know Waterside Cottages will be one GASP after another!

Tell Barbara -- Elyse sent you! LOL

I love those vintage sand pails as well. I have casually looked at them on ebay but have never found any I loved. We don't have a ton of antique stores here...sigh.

Congratulations on winning that giveaway! I had been following Barbara Jacksier's tales of getting her book published. It looks like it's going to make a lovely "coffee table" book for sure! :)

This book looks wonderful!!! You are so lucky to live near the ocean. Oklahoma has nice lakes, but it is just not the same. You throw in your beautiful beaches and the quaitness of New Enlgand....a glorious combination. I lived in Warwick for a while, and I loved sightseeing!!! Also, I need to check out the dental tape. I have never heard of that. Interesting.....

Ooooh, I love the little tin pails!
The children and I spend hours looking for sea glass but always seem to find lots of small bits, we've never been fortunate enough to find any larger pieces.
It was lovely to read your list of 6 things, great to find out more about you.
((hugs))

And I had to hop on over too. Sounds like a great new book. How do you know all the details???? I love the whole beach theme. I grew up in a funky beach community and live about 3 blocks from the beach now!!! The clock faces/flower frogs DO look cool "thumbnail" size. Thanks for visiting and your nice comment! xo Joan

Oh, I love those little pails too. Great photos, esp your little bathroom one.
Thanks for your RXs on my blog. How perfect.
Made me smile. Felt like I was already sipping the coffee, with muffin nearby, and flowers smiling at me from a bell jar vase.
You're super sweet.

I think I may have to take my Michaels coupon and head over to the Martha Stewart section for some glitter. Thankyou so much for the tip. Char
