a banner day

Another snowfall has me craving a bit of bold, cheerful color so I gathered a few trusty supplies:

wallpaper scraps and samples, note cards, twine, scissors and glue.

I made a template from construction paper.

I folded and cut

and glued

and folded again and dabbed off excess glue;

then clamped

and let dry.

Then I admired

and hung

and then headed back outside to shovel.

This project was quick 'n easy to make and the perfect infusion of some British Country flavor into my dining area.

(And much more fun than shoveling snow)

Simple but pretty projects are the best! And handmade always wins over storebought so keep tinkering away! Stay warm and cozy and have a great weekend. Tammy

Love, love, love! We didn't get any snow here on the Cape but it's a dreary rainy day and your sweet bunting was just the thing to make me smile (and be thankful I don't have to shovel).

I wish I had snow....not so much I'd need to shovel, but some snow would be better than this gray rain and wind we are getting today!

Elyse -thank you sooo much for visiting me today.I miss visiting Lizzie at her shop - it was rather sad to see the gorgeous photos in Romantic Country. I hope next time you visit the Cape you'll have a chance to visit my little shop. I'm not as drop dead gorgeous as Vintage Lizzie was, but it's still a pretty fun little shop.

I love it, Elyse!!!! those papers are perfectly perfect! I was just looking at some of the "Brittish banners' on etsy last night! Why don't I find papers like that?! :) Come see me! I miss you! ♥

Elyse,
Did you acquire your background "wallpaper" or did you make it? I use typepad so I am not sure what you did would be transferable but I am trying to find information on this and just not getting much traction.

What a cute banner Elyse and I noticed even your clamps are adorable painted clothes pins- no plain clamps for you!

Just got in from our trip to Phoenix and back. Had such a great time with some blogging ladies on Saturday and came home with a ton of fabric to make some bedding frou frou for the master bedroom. I hope I will have time to start on it soon!

It was nice to experience some warm weather too!
