s'mitten

There is snow in the forecast! Time to dig out the mittens, scarves and hats.

Time to fasten a twine "clothesline" to pegs above the radiator near the back door. (Rhode Islanders hardly ever use the front door. Do you?)

At first I hung plain clothespins but then thought, that's just wrong for a clothespin tinkerer like myself! So, I spray-painted a handful of clothespins white and looked for inspiration from a Cath Kidston catalog.

I cut up favorite fabric images ...

and decoupaged cut strips to the clothespins. (Sorry for dark photos -- this was a p.m. project)

Now, we are ready for snow. I think!

Darling post Elyse, you clever girl!! I LOVE that clothespin idea!! So perfect when you have kids that love to play outside :) We never use the front door either! It is just friendlier to use the back, kinda like daisies :):)

I am inspired to learn to use spray paint. Yes, I am lacking the patience, perhaps, but definitely challenged when working with that nozzled can.

Stay safe. It sounds like you are going to have a big storm on the east coast. We have been in CA now for a month and happy to be warm and out of the Vermont snow.

Enjoy the holidays with your family.

Very cute!
Some days we use the front door but ususally we come in through the garage.
Snow--what is that? :) all we've had is flurries and a slight dusting. Ken got a shovel for
Christmas though.

Oh, what a creative and cute idea Elyse! Not only would that be a convenient way to find those gloves, but it adds a cozy winter look.

Now the trick is to find mittens that are worthy to be "pinned" by Cath...major pressure...!

These are just gorgeous, I love them. It is suprising how much of a difference it makes, they are now much nicer to look at, and what is better is that you have designed them all yourself :).

Hope you had a lovely Christmas.

Cute and pratical idea, Elyse! snow patrol can get pretty ugly in the North! This would really make it fun!

One of my earliest memories is the smell of snow dripping off gloves and hitting the wood stove!

I have internet now! Yippee! ♥
