shellie sews sweet stuff by the sea shore
For the past few months, I have been tackling many home décor projects, ranging from the small (wallpapering a cabinet) to the large (painting my bedroom). All of the hard work had been for the possibility of an opportunity that just actually happened that I will share very soon. {Hint!}
Helping me beyond words with feathering my nest during this process has been my dear friend Shellie. Whenever I get a big idea that requires sewing, Shellie is right there with enthusiasm, ideas, and her trusty measuring tape.
Shellie put these pillows together using some of my most favorite fabrics.
Shellie more than tidied-up this chair pad that I had "sewed."
Shellie can even decipher my Well, I want something unstructured and beachy . . . into something unstructured and beachy and beautiful.
She whipped this lovely valance together in record time and even made 2 pillow shams to match.
Shellie never allows me to pay her for her talents-on-demand, always insisting that this is simply what friends do. I do try to repay her with girls nights out (or breakfasts) on me.
I also want to thank sweet Sandi of Wayside Treasures who sent me this pretty runner, flower pin, and little Prima flowers just because they looked like "my colors." So thoughtful!
I am so very thankful for the friendships in my life -- offline and online.

Aren't our special close friends just great? I have one who is also a whiz at sewing. Her name is Joy and I just love her to pieces. We do have fun together. Every time she finds some treasure at either an antique store or a yard sale - she'll text me with "START THE CAR!".
It's great!

How wonderful-- a happy, helpful friend ... and all your little makeovers look great! I was in Ikea the other day and saw a cottagey living room set and, of course, immediately thought of you. :) I wish I could sew. Sweet gifts from sweet Sandi. Hope you are having a fabulous day, Tammy

Hi Elyse,
I knew those goodies would look perfect in your home!! Just lovely!
You have a great friend to do all that sewing for you too. I can sew, but I choose not to most of the time! lol
Hugs~
Online bloggy friends are the best. Yes, those are indeed your colors. Your chair cushions and rug look absolutely beautiful together, Elyse!
Brenda
How sweet is that runner, so cute. You are a lucky gal.
Everything looks so fresh and pretty! I love anything that reminds me of the sea shore! ♥
That is so sweet, Elyse. I have two sheets that look kind of like those. No one in the family wants to use them as sheets. I want to wash them some more, so they are really soft and worn, and make things out of them, just because they are so delightful.
I am glad you got such nice treats from your friends. Obviously you are getting back what you put out to others!
Hugs,
Suz
oh my i just love those pictures,so inspiring
Hi again, Elyse! Just reading your comment on my post...thanks for the visit, by the way!
Okay, you HAVE to read Katharine Howe's book--it's amazing! Devoured it last summer, then gave it to my mom, who passed it to my sister-in-law...loved it! I told my mom to keep it and I bought another copy! Definitely a re-read book!
How fun that you got to hear her...would love to do that!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!
Julie
Oh my Shellie did a fab job! It looks just perfect!
Lovely blog and what a wonderful friend you have! I could just read your posts and enjoy your pictures all day. Do you think the wonderful blue print of your blog background and the cute cushion/pillows is still being produced and available? I have searched for something like it so long. Hope you can provide a name or a designer. Thank you!
I love the curtains that Shellie made for you!!! What a delightful friend!!
I love your sweet accents Elyse and how wonderful to have such a dear friend!
I am busting at the seams and screaming!!!!!!!
Love,
Maryjane
