my new toy

The other day while meandering around Michaels, I noticed flocking powder for the very first time.

I applied it as I would glitter and like the subtle fuzzy layer it adds.

What other craft goodies am I still unaware of? Any favorites to share?

I love it!!! But I cannot help you with any ideas. Most crafts materials over here are imported from the US, so by the time it gets here it is probably in the sales corner at Michaels'! Have a lovely day, here it is dark, it's raining cats and dogs!

i have been wanting to try that...i never seem to get to Michael's though...i bet it looks so pretty on your cottage clips!!!

Oh, that is very cool. I used to use embossing powder a lot.

Hmmm....what can I flock?!

Hi Elyse, just visiting from Rose Vine Cottage Two, love your blog. Everything is right up my alley. Love the flock. Don't think we can get that here is Oz. But i will be looking out for it.

Flocking powder?! Oh boy! Thanks for telling us, Elyse! M was just telling about liquid laminate and I hadn't heard of that either.

One of my favorite "tools" to use is tacky glue but you've proabably heard of that. I will use it instead of hot glue if at all possible. Hot glue is too demanding of me- makes me move too fast when I'm just wanting to relax!

I've never seen that either...looks awesome! Thanks for sharing it :)

Hi Elyse, with the ever changing pretty hair, I think of you often when I'm at Michaels meandering around myself. I am so glad you discovered flocking powder. It's fun. I wonder if you've used crackle paint (of course you have) or embossing or distress powder? And I thought of you when I was checking out the microbeads, those are super fun and can be used like glitter too. I loved the little Halloween package you gave me, and have used most of the goodies already for projects, thank you! So thoughtful and fun.

Wow, Elyse - that looks beautiful!

The closest craftstore is a two-hour round trip for me, and I can't find 1/2 the goodies that I find on the net. Hubs & I made a trip to the city & Hobby Lobby (2 hrs. roundtrip) and I couldn't find glass glitter, Frenchy fabric, or Somerset Magazine. Sheesh! Thank goodness for the net!

BTW, the more I visit your blog, the more I'm thinking I need more robin's egg blue & pink. :)

Happy crafting!

Elyse, since you're enjoying the flock, I have the feeling you may like Flower Soft too. A friend gave me a jar of it and I love the dimension it adds to my cardmaking. It makes my stamped flowers look so real. Flower Soft and Martha's paper punches are my newest toys!

Hi, Elyse,
No, I wasn't aware of flocking powder. I just recently discovered Martha Stewart craft products, and I really like what I have seen. Your clothespins are the sweetest. Thank you for stopping by for a visit at Bunny Cottage. Sweet autumn blessings to you! Vicki

Hi Elyse! I love flocking powder! I have used it in cardmaking with my rubber stamps for years! I love to use brown flock powder on a teddybear stamped image for the fuzzy wuzzy cuddly wuddly look! I also love using the white for Santa's beard and mustache! There are so many fun uses for that. I have long given up on trying to keep up with all the new, fun, and innovative craft ideas! I don't have enough time in a year to do it all!

Thank you so much for stopping by to say hello today! I really appreciate that!

Hey! You know what? I am so sad that my "Treasured Blogger" animated button from you isn't working right now! I really miss it's pretty image with the sweet smoke curling up from the chimneytop of the cottage! I wonder what happened.

Little Pink Studio said...

I just picked up a few bottles of this too. I have previously used the flocking powders by Doodlebug, but Martha has some wonderful colors! I hope I will like it as much as the others I have used.
Have you tried playing with glass beads instead of glass glitter? I am going to have those soon.
I also liked Martha's tinsel glitter!
Love new toys.

Oh yes, I just bought some of this TOO!!! Isn't it wonderful? I was thinking how nice it would be to add to hand made cards... especially at Christmas and Easter.

Martha is the best! Everytime I think she might be going downhill... she comes right back with a bang. DId you see the glittered photo corners? I am so buying those next. lol!!
