"the friendliest flower"

Kathleen Kelly: I love daisies.
Joe Fox: You told me.
Kathleen Kelly: They're so friendly. Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?

You've Got Mail My favorite go-to movie
~ ~

I love daisies, too. So when I GASPed after spotting some at a garden shop, my sweet husband bought me a bunch. When I have a bouquet, I like to break it up and put flowers all over. Do you do that, too?

Some are here . . .

and here . . .

a few are here . . .

But the main inspiration for this entire post came from Amy whose Cottage Porch Party pics prompted me to rush out today to buy some mason jars and place some here . . .

The jar is tied below the grooves with florist wire and hangs from a small nail. Thank you, Amy!

{Still haven't painted the steps 'n rails yet but it's on the list!}

When I see daisies, I think of two people:
my mother-in-law, who LOVED them and
Kathleen Kelly from "You've Got Mail" one of my all time favs. I can watch that movie every weekend of the year!

Daisies ARE the friendliest flower, they bring spontaneous smiles :)
Thanks for the cheery post!

The mason jar filled with flowers turned out wonderful. Here is a favorite song of mine.....

I'll give you a daisy a day dear,
I'll give you a daisy a day....

I'll love you until the rivers run still, and the 4 winds we know blow away.

Hi Elyse,
I love daisies too. You asked about shabby chic shops in CT. Our shop in Madison is somewhat shabby chic. There is a wonderful shop in Seymour, which may be far for you, called Tickled Pink that is a wonderful shabby chic shop. They are definitely hard to find!

Hi Elyse..

I love Daisies and You've got mail movie too!.. hehehehe.. I remember the first time I watched the movie.. it made me feels good and grabbed the Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice book instantly.. and the next thing I knew I was at the flowers market looking for daisies or gerbera for my desk.. for few weeks, I bought daisies for my desk and always make me happy.. such a happy moment..

I like how to spread the daisies in small jars.. they look pretty on its own or even mix with other flowers.. reminds me of Cottage garden..

Have a great week!

Great how you manage to make so many bouquets out of a bunch of daisies! We call the small ones (growing like weed in the grass) Madeliefjes, which means something like mom's little sweethearts and the bigger ones are called Margrieten, which is an old fashioned (but beautiful) girls' name, I think you would say Margreth. Great shop, too bad it isn't around the corner. Have a great day!

All these little flower arrangements look gorgeous, I love the daisies too. I also have daisies around the house at the moment, and I do also like to split up the bunch of flowers to make lots of little arrangements.
