cabbages & roses giveaway!

What would you do with Cabbages & Roses Elgin blue fabric?

In my recent post entitled linen indecision I discuss a lovely piece of fabric from Cabbages & Roses received as a gift from the Fabulous Fifi and my hesitation to use it. I was delighted with everyone's wonderful suggestions and of course noticed how so many of you are also smitten with the English company's pretty fabric. So you know what I did? I contacted Cabbages & Roses and asked to host one of their giveaways. They happily agreed and now you can have the chance to win some beautiful Cabbages & Roses fabric!

How does a meter of Elgin blue fabric sound? It is one of Cabbages & Roses' most recent prints.

To enter please leave a comment on this post describing what you would do with your own meter of Elgin blue fabric.

For additional entries share news of this giveaway on Twitter, your blog, and/or Facebook and leave a separate comment for each, letting me know you have done so.

A winner will be selected at random on January 20, 2011.

Can't get enough Cabbages & Roses? Visit their blog and website.

Good luck!

I would make a quilted tea cozy for my British tea pot and matching lined short draperies for my new apartment's kitchen. It's beautiful fabric and, though I don't have a new place to live yet, it's given me some great ideas for decorating!

I would make a cute little valance for the kitchen window. I'm looking for ways to beautify the home. I also share an apartment with my father, so he doesn't like a lot of pink. However, he does love blue..so I could get this to work :) :) :) I think the fabric is lovely. Thanks for hosting the giveaway. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Hi Elyse..well let me just start by commending you on your 'go gettum' attitude! You want something, you have a vision of it, and you work to make it a reality! Good for you!

As far as what I would do with a meter of this gorgeous fabric...well, right now I'm working on, among other things simultaneously, a crochet lace trim that features, you guessed it, a rose pattern on it. I have had the trail of lace growing steadily..but if I were to win this sweet fabric I would certainly up my creative anti and finish it quick. My breakfast round table would look marvelous all decked out in rosey fashioned lacy table cloth! Say, would you not?

Thanks for the chance!

Ciao Bella!

Hello Dearie! Well, it seems we have the same dilema when it comes to cutting a gorgeous piece of fabric like yours. I would probably just hem the edges and make a table throw or a nice big bolster for the bed to take full advantage of it. It would look sooo pretty with lots of big white linen pillows! OH, and nothing & nobody can replace your sweet handmade treasures!! Happy New Year Elyse!! xoRoberta

Someone is going to be so lucky and happy with a metre of that incredible print! You are so nice to go to the trouble to set up this giveaway. If I won it, first it would get a crochet-trim edging so that I could have it out as a casual throw or a table-cover to admire it and then maybe it would later become a few pretty cushions and sachets with the scraps.

I just found your blog while looking for an old Cabbage and Roses book called "Vintage Chic". What a nice give away, I would use the metre of fabric to cover two old lamp shades on our bed side tables, the base is a terracotta and it was the first set of lamps we bought a long time ago. The shades are currently pale green but I think this fabric would look fabulous. Ann
