What would you do with Cabbages & Roses Elgin blue fabric?
In my recent post entitled linen indecision I discuss a lovely piece of fabric from Cabbages & Roses received as a gift from the Fabulous Fifi and my hesitation to use it. I was delighted with everyone's wonderful suggestions and of course noticed how so many of you are also smitten with the English company's pretty fabric. So you know what I did? I contacted Cabbages & Roses and asked to host one of their giveaways. They happily agreed and now you can have the chance to win some beautiful Cabbages & Roses fabric!
How does a meter of Elgin blue fabric sound? It is one of Cabbages & Roses' most recent prints.
To enter please leave a comment on this post describing what you would do with your own meter of Elgin blue fabric.
For additional entries share news of this giveaway on Twitter, your blog, and/or Facebook and leave a separate comment for each, letting me know you have done so.
A winner will be selected at random on January 20, 2011.
Can't get enough Cabbages & Roses? Visit their blog and website.
Good luck!

Am I first? Yay! I think I'd use it to make a quilted throw. It's a pretty fabric. I may need to repaint my living room to match...
I'd make a little pillow...maybe even two with that meter of beautiful fabric. Thank you for hosting this wonderful giveaway!
Blessings,
Marcia
P.S. I have a CSN giveaway on my blog right now, in case you want to come by and enter :-)
Oh my, an apron for sure would be how this fabric would end up!! It is beautiful. I would embellish and trim with vintage crochet lace and doilies....making something both functional and beautiful.
What absolutely beautiful fabric....I would probably do pillows or either cover a chair that I am repainting that is in desperate need of some brightening up!
That beautiful fabric would be made into something for my parlor and tea room. Maybe a tea cozy or a pillow for the love seat.
Love Your Blog,
Happy 2011,
Nancy
I would make some pillows for my living room, I live with my mother and we could REALLY use some color in this house! Beige Beige Beige
After laying it out on my lap and stroking it a like a kitten for awhile, I would make it into a wall hanging fabric collage. It would look fatastic in my living room.
Here I am again to tell you I posted it on my fb.knuckled54@yahoo.com Denise Adorian
I would make a quilted tea cozy for my British tea pot and matching lined short draperies for my new apartment's kitchen. It's beautiful fabric and, though I don't have a new place to live yet, it's given me some great ideas for decorating!
I would make a cute little valance for the kitchen window. I'm looking for ways to beautify the home. I also share an apartment with my father, so he doesn't like a lot of pink. However, he does love blue..so I could get this to work :) :) :) I think the fabric is lovely. Thanks for hosting the giveaway. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Hi Elyse Sweetie...
Oh what a beutiful share my friend. I believe that I would make two new pillows for my bedroom. I am redoing it in blue and brown, and how gorgeous they would be made from this fabric. I may have to check into buying enough for curtains while I am at it. I love, love this print. So gorgeous.
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity. You actually had FiFi over. Oh my, you lucky gal, and got a beautiful piece of fabric. Oh what a treasure. She is a DOLL.

I would make curtains I think. Such a pretty blue pattern.

Beautiful fabric... It would be perfect in my bedroom, so I think I would have to make a cushion cover...Lx
Oh my! I would most definitely make the snuggliest, coziest, plushest pillows ever. And then I might not ever come out again....ever.
Pillows for my lovely bedroom; that fabric would match so well. Thanks for the opportunity.
Hi Elyse..well let me just start by commending you on your 'go gettum' attitude! You want something, you have a vision of it, and you work to make it a reality! Good for you!
As far as what I would do with a meter of this gorgeous fabric...well, right now I'm working on, among other things simultaneously, a crochet lace trim that features, you guessed it, a rose pattern on it. I have had the trail of lace growing steadily..but if I were to win this sweet fabric I would certainly up my creative anti and finish it quick. My breakfast round table would look marvelous all decked out in rosey fashioned lacy table cloth! Say, would you not?
Thanks for the chance!
Ciao Bella!
Creative Carmelina

Fab fabric.I would make either a quilted top for my tray or I'd use it to line the outer of my gorgeous little white cupboard.I'd want everyone to be able to see it..xx
Blue and white is my ultimate color combination! I'd either make a table runner for my dining room or pillows for my bedroom.
Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
I am in the process of redecorating the small back entrance area of our church, and I think this fabric would look perfect as a tablecloth/topper on a little round table between two old original wooden chairs in that space! The chairs I'm planning to use there could use some recovering, so the seats could match as well! Thank you for the opportunity and the inspiration!

I love blue and white fabric. The one you have show here is gorgeous. I would use it to create a pillow to go with my blue and whites in my living room.
Karen
This beautiful fabric would be placed in my vintage frames and hung in my dining room to match my collection of blue and white transfer-ware.
Hello Dearie! Well, it seems we have the same dilema when it comes to cutting a gorgeous piece of fabric like yours. I would probably just hem the edges and make a table throw or a nice big bolster for the bed to take full advantage of it. It would look sooo pretty with lots of big white linen pillows! OH, and nothing & nobody can replace your sweet handmade treasures!! Happy New Year Elyse!! xoRoberta
(p.s. If I win, go ahead and give it to the next person in line)
I'd use it to maybe cover some lamps and hopefully have enough for a matching cushion.
I'd cover some of my notebooks in it so everytime I have to use it for work it would make me smile :-) so gorgeous, I just love it!
Just retweeting this! Georgia
Pillows, journal covers, fabric pinboard- oh I'd have to really think hard for a bit, seeing the fabric, feeling the fabric, resting my head against the fabric.... oh. Just got carried away!
Michaele
What a great giveaway! I would make an apron.
Irma :)
I have a blue on my bedroom walls that would be fantastic with this print! I'm not sure how many yards {?} a meter is but if it was enough I'd make straight curtains for the one window in my bedroom and/or pillows too for the bed! Thanks for a sweet giveaway! Suzie purrpage3[at]verizon[dot]net

I have blue and white toile in my bedroom and that would go sooooo nicely.
I would just have to sew up a bloster pillow the one that goes across the entire bed. Then if any material left a pajama pillow or pajama hanger
I would use it to cover the front of my Heritage Scrapbook...many of my ancestors were from England...so that works!
I'm not sure, Elyse. But looks like wonderful tablecloth material. Beautiful!
Brenda

no pillows for me, I would make a bag to carry all my things & show off that pretty fabric!
A big fluffy pillow for me! It's gorgeous!!!
Someone is going to be so lucky and happy with a metre of that incredible print! You are so nice to go to the trouble to set up this giveaway. If I won it, first it would get a crochet-trim edging so that I could have it out as a casual throw or a table-cover to admire it and then maybe it would later become a few pretty cushions and sachets with the scraps.
This lovely fabric would become a set of matching pillows for my mother's cabbage rose sofa (we live together). Thanks for the giveaway of this pretty fabric. Please enter me into the drawing if you are shipping to the USA.
Gosh I'm not 100% sure, something for my mom though

Just found your blog and I am so enjoying it!
~Heidi
Just came from the Cabbage & Rose site, dreaming over their beautiful fabrics. So man to choose from!
What would I do? Incorporate it into the quilt I keep wanting. Something I could enjoy and treasure a very long time.
I just found your blog while looking for an old Cabbage and Roses book called "Vintage Chic". What a nice give away, I would use the metre of fabric to cover two old lamp shades on our bed side tables, the base is a terracotta and it was the first set of lamps we bought a long time ago. The shades are currently pale green but I think this fabric would look fabulous. Ann
