miniature makeover

While milling around at Michaels the other night, I bought this unfinished miniature piece of furniture. I thought it would be fun to shabbify and if it turned out nicely, give as a gift to a friend who is furnishing her doll house. Do you think it needs anything else or is it finished? I'm undecided.

Okay, time to get offline. There is lots to do to get ready for tomorrow. Gulp.

Elyse, That is sooo cute! I don't think it needs anything else...it's adorable!
While I do miss having younger kids at home, I don't miss those back to school days. Good Luck!

Oh Elyse! It's so sweet! Anyway these might make their way to your Etsy shop? Lots of folk decorating dollhouses for Christmas.:)

I'm a big fan of dollhouse things and currently refurbishing one of my own ( I have a dollhouse label on my blog). I love what you did with that piece. I have thought of doing the same to make a Barbie sized armoire out of the jewelry boxes you see at second hand stores.
Yours looks great. If it were me I'd distress the corners a bit by gentle sanding, and maybe rub a little antiquing into the crevaces, but some people like them more 'shabby' than chic- like me. Think of the personality of your friend. But I do Love it.

ps: I loved Julie and Julia! FAB!

Well it is wonderful just as have it, but you did ask!

A bit of lace or baby ricrac on the shelf edge. white, sage green or blue??

A rose( or rosebud) between the knobs on the drawer. For me it would have to be a rub-on!

it turned out soooooo cute

How cute. Great job. I agree with the other poster about sanding a little, but depends on taste of your friend. It does look lovely just as is too.

I think it's perfect. I need to get started on some furniture for Emma's dollhouse. That is great inspiration!

I think it's great already, but you could, could but don't have to, paint a little flower like a daisy in the darker rose paint on the top of each knob, but it's cute already. Good luck tomorrow!

It is absolutely precious Elyse and just perfect as is! You are such a sweet friend!

I will be thinking of you tomorrow and your precious boys! I will be going through it on the following Tuesday :( I almost think it is harder on us mom's than the kids, lol!
Hugs,
Amy

I think it is adorable and so sweet of you to do for your friend.
The only thing I might do is see if you could cut off the little knobs and add rhinestones in their places.
Just an idea. You know, the more bling the better.
Have a super week.

Hi Elyse, It has been awhile. I am glad you were able to stop by today and leave a comment. I am so happy to tell you that I added you to my list so that I can keep up to date on what you are up to as I love all your projects! This little one looks cute but if you change it I bet it would be fantastic!
I love the first day of school, It is a new beginning and everything is new and fresh. Now that my kids are grown I miss all of the fun things you get to buy and making them lunches with love notes and treats in them. Treasure this time it passes so quickly!

That cabinet is adorable! I shabbied up a Michaels cabinet and replaced the original knobs with crystal beads to make them look like glass knobs. I love how you lined your cabinet--so sweet!
