Creative Collaborations

One of the amazing things about blogging are the creative collaborations that happen whether planned or unplanned.

Planned
Karen Harvey Cox of A Scrapbook of Inspiration asked if she could buy a frame from my Etsy shop, paint something to put inside and then sell it at her Etsy shop. I was thrilled. Karen painted over a print of one of her own watercolor paintings using pearlized paint and then added some glitter. Beautiful! She even named it Elyse's Inspiration and it is now available at Karen's Etsy shop.

Unplanned
Lori of My Faerie Window made me a very cool collage.

I wanted to display it in an equally cool way. I remembered seeing an amazing project that Jen Kershner at {The Cottage Nest} had made at the paper arts event, Silver Bella.

Inspired by Jen's piece (shown above) I put together my own to showcase my collage from Lori.

The collage is held to the chicken wire with tied ribbon so that Lori's piece is complete intact. I am so happy with how it turned out.

And, just for fun: a belated St. Patrick's day chuckle. Trying to be the fun mom, I made green milk (milk + green food coloring) for my boys yesterday morning. As you can see breakfast was devoured but the milk went untouched. Oh well ...

I love what you did with your chicken wire frame! So lovely. You are such a talented girl! Love the green milk, I remember Emma had us make her green eggs one day (she loves Dr. Seuss!) and she had a hard time making herself eat them, but once she did she loved them.

Hi Elyse,
Is there a way for me to order something from you without going through Etsy?
Thanks!

I saw your beautiful frame over at Karens. It was a wonderful collaberation! Both of your works, looked lovely together.

I really like how you framed that collage. I love chicken wire. I replaced the glass in my hutch with it and I have alot left. I have been looking at different ways to use it.

Penny

Hi Elyse,
Thank you for sharing that. I love your collage. I saw a frame in Home Goods the other day with wonderful shabby colors and was thinking about what I could put inside. This is a great idea.

Newport is about an hour away. I love going there, as soon as I get over that bridge I feel like I am on vacation.

Both the frame you painted and the painting Karen put inside of it are darling! How lucky are you to get a beautiful collage from the talented Lori!! That is so cute what you did with the collage.

I love the fact that you have a sense of humor with your children. they may not have touched it, but I'm sure it was the topic of conversation yesterday with their friends! Very cute! :)

What fabulous collaborations! So creative and beautiful! Hope you had a great Wednesday--I just finished up a Wills & Trusts exam (ew), so I might actually get a chance to bake this week. I think your green milk for St. Patty's Day was totally awesome (even though it went un-drunk); what a cute idea!!
