Vignette Syndrome

Reenactment of Lunch Vignette

The other day I was gathering ingredients to make a sandwich for my youngest son. As I placed the jars and bread and plate orderly on the kitchen counter I laughed to myself realizing that I had unknowingly created a small vignette!

Intentionally, I have planned many small vignettes around my home. I enjoy when things are neat and pretty. I get nervous and distracted amidst chaos and clutter. Is this being organized or do I have VIGNETTE SYNDROME? Do you?

As bloggers we are always thinking of ways to display things to show our friends via photos. Is it something we just can’t unplug? Do we want to?

  1. Do you find yourself creating small scenes during daily tasks?
  2. Do you tend to group like items together even in places like your refrigerator?
  3. Do you place your dishes by size in the dish rack as you wash them?

You just might have Vignette Syndrome! And, I'm here for you!

I had to laugh when you asked about arranging vignettes in the refrigerator! I'm not quite that bad, but I am picky about how my things are arranged on other surfaces. It bugs me if anyone moves them out of place. Interesting post! ~Lori

HAHAH I totally have the syndrome!? Do I need to go for help? I even do it with my dog's toys/dishes! Maybe this just means we have way to many creative juices flowing for our own good..?

That is too funny, but oh sooooo true! My house is even neater since I started blogging, lol, just in case I get in the mood to snap a few photo's, I don't want to have to change the view too much :) lol

I adore each one of yours too!! So pretty and I love the one with the glass Jars! and now its lunch time, so I'm going for a PBJ myself :)

Great post Elyse and I'm right there with ya!

Hmmm.. I don't know if I have "VS" ha - but I like what you're calling it. I do group things in pretty ways, and sometimes I just love the way the clean dishes shine against the stainless drainboard... maybe I do have it! I love your blog! :)

Oh gosh yes! I have vignette syndrom terribly. I had it long before I blogged, but it really comes in handy now that I am blogging. Love your blog and your Etsy store is awesome. Do you ever have any white swhutters for sale with the roses, like the aqua one in your shop? xoxo

Betty Jo said...

What on earth is a swhutter?? I meant shutter of course, but it is always fun to invent a new word, now isn't it? xoxo

I definatly have vignette syndrome... but I have to say I can create a vignette amongst messy chaos and just sit back and admire my little vignette in a sea of mess... that is kinda really bad. haha

Love Lori's comment about OCD... hehe

I'm starting to get the same syndrome. I think it's great. We should always try to make everything around us appealing.
P.S. Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog, sorry it took so long to respond.
Stay warm.
