thank you

A rainy day can be a welcomed excuse to stay in "woobie clothes" all day with hot drinks and little agenda. Today is going to be that kind of a day.

The past few days have been a whirlwind of emotions and events from bewildered grief to enjoying the warm gathering and reaching out of family and friends. I thank each and every one of you for your heartfelt comments at my previous post. I am thankful to be part of this wonderfully nurturing community we have found and created online. Words cannot express my gratefulness for the understanding and comforting words and {hugs} received -- I felt every one of them.

With warmest and most sincere thanks. {Hugs} from me to you. I'm glad I shared.

  3. I'm glad you shared, too, Elyse...there's something so comforting in being able to do that.

I'm glad you're having a "woobie clothes" day--we call it "lazy clothes" day--they're our favorites! It's so important at times like this to allow yourself to do that.

I hope things slow down a little for you, my friend, and that your soul will feel a bit of peace and calm...this is just the season to surround yourself with those things...

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers...

    Julie

  4. I'm also glad you shared Elyse. I don't think we're always only about sharing pretty things here in blogland. We are friends who care about our friends. Sometimes, sharing our heartaches helps them heal better.

I'm so happy to hear that you are taking a day of rest...take care of yourself dear friend. Most importantly, give yourself the time to heal.
    Sending hugs and prayers, Debi

  7. I have always found that when you put words to paper, it helps you to understand and to deal with whatever is pressing at the moment. It's a sort of release that allows you to work through the emotions. I think a woobie clothes kinda day is just what you need. Relax, breathe, enjoy. Best wishes, Tammy

  10. Elyse I am so sorry to hear about the loss of you mother. So many emotions seem to whirl during these times. I remember all the 100 million thoughts and change from desperate sadness to joy and peace within nano-seconds when my father passed away. Christmas eve was his Birthday so it is always a happy/sad time.

I pray you will feel God's loving and comforting arms around you during this time and that many forgotten happy memories will be remembered and cherished.

    Your are loved sweet friend!

    bee blessed

  16. HI Elyse,

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I saw the post the other day and was on my way out, so I wanted to wait till I had a few minutes to express my sympathies. Having gone through the loss of my Father and having so many people surround me with love and support, I know how you feel. You did a beautiful job with her cards too, so touching and I know it must have been a sad day doing them too. I find my creative outlets have been the most important thing for me and they helped me so much to get through the hard parts.

Use your incredible creative talents to help you through, they will be such gifts to you, and to others. My thoughts are with you and your family!

    Love, Cyn xo

  20. we all need days like these..in fact I'm having sort of a similar day...I say sort of...because I'm still in my jamies..and I'm sipping on hot chocolate and eating cookies all day...

but I'm not going through the tough emotions that you are at this time. I caught up on reading your blog...and the last post before this one was sad.

    My thoughts are with you...
what you did with those cute tags I'm sure was a sweet, soft and simple healing to you.

    ciao bella...
