scenic 6A

Greetings! My little Cape Cod getaway was fun, delicious, and as scenic as a coffee table book on New England. Cottages, picket fences, and colorful leaves were everywhere!

Rose Brier Studio

If you are ever (in? on? at?) Cape Cod, be sure to make two special stops along Route 6A. We were heading west (back toward Rhode Island) so our first stop was to meet Marilee of Rose Brier Studio.

Here's Marilee and me (I'm having a naturally curly day) in her beautiful shop.

Marilee is excitedly preparing for Silver Bella, where she will be a first-time vendor.

Marilee's bright and pretty shop is filled with lovely vignettes of china, vintage notions, linens, and much more. It was so wonderful to meet her!

Back onto Route 6A, it was time to visit Vintage Lizzie.

I tell Lizzie that I want to be her intern ...

and ask if she'll be my mentor!

She is inspiring to me in so many ways (GUSH) and her shop is completely dreamy.

This inspiration board hangs behind her desk.

Lizzie doesn't like having her photo taken so I'll use this instead!

Couldn't resist purchasing one of Lizzie's sachets. I even bought a bag of romantic fabric scraps (now that I sew -- LOL!)

A peek at Lizzie's studio.

Just one more pic ... This was taken inside the barn/shop of the Hopkins House Bakery in Brewster. You just know a place is going to be cool when there is a bicycle with a basket -- entirely painted white -- in front of the shop.

Thank you to everyone who took my poll. Much appreciated!

xo

Thank you for the fun field trip! I haven't been to/at/on Cape Cod for a number of years but these 2 places make me want to plan to return! Your beautiful things would go so well in Vintage Lizzie's shop! Speaking of your lovely things....my package arrived Monday (so speedy!) and I gasped when I opened the box. It was almost hard to unwrap each beautifully wrapped item.....right! for about 2 minutes!!! I love the frames and the tin box. Two of the items are for a good friend's birthday. She will be awed! The extra little surprises were just as lovely as the items I ordered. You can count on my return. Thanks so much Elyse!

Hi Elyse!

Looks like you had a wonderful time with your sister on Cape Cod. Both shops look scrumptious!

Now that you are a seamstress there is no telling what you'll whip up with those fabric scraps!

Hi Elyse,
Sounds like you had tons of fun on your trip. And what lovely shops. So many pretty things to see. How did you do it? How did you come home without buying everything in sight. I'm just sad that I am no where near these beautiful shops. I live at the opposite side of the map(west) :-( I have been over to visit at Vintage Lizzie, beautiful blog, but I'll definitely be checking out Marilee's. Anyway, thank you for sharing. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Hugs,
♥Ana

Lori,
just a quick question. I signed up and purchased a spot in class. Usually when I purchase something in paypal I am redirected to the site. Do they send me my password through the e-mail?

Thanks, I can't wait to begin.

Great pics. Fun to take the little trip with you. Your chowder pic from the other day had (has) me craving some real chowda! Hope you got some. I have this silly/charming children's book I keep meaning to show you at work. It reminds me of you.
Hope to see you soon and hope I remember to show you the book. I've had it checked out to myself and tucked under my desk for over a month.
