fresh picked

fresh flowers

The other day I was driving along Hope Street in the East Side of Providence, a beautiful section of the city: full of large homes on tree-lined streets, cafés, shops, parks, colleges and universities and ... a flower cart! I wish I had my camera with me but alas, I did not.

So there was this adorable awning-topped flower cart on the sidewalk in front of this manse of a house. In the cart there were vibrant arrangements fresh from the garden in spray-painted silver Starbucks cups. Please leave $5 a bunch Since I only had a $10 -- I bought two! I hope to return this weekend to take photos to share. For now, here are some I snapped of the bouquets back at home.

fresh paint

Here's what I brought in from my backyard. Spray-painted at the picnic table, dry and ready for tinkering.

fresh dècor

GASP! Look at this new garden wall dècor from Pottery Barn Kids! PBK is a great place for shabby and cottage finds and as you can see, it's not just for kids.

fresh colors

Laurie Star is having her first giveaway! I told her that these are so much fun, so please visit the talented Laurie to enter. I am planning my own blogiversary giveaway so stay tuned for details!

fresh sigh of relief

Hooray! My I Thought of You swap partner Debi received the goodies I assembled for her and I'm so relieved to find that she is very excited about everything. {I was worried} I used these little Martha Stewart goodie bags (love them) to package up some of her treats.

Oh Elyse I have that too always, doubting whether your swap partner would like this and that and wouldn't it have been better if...But it all looks so sweet what you send. I received my goodies from Kitty and I was totally overwhelmed. You'll see why in my blog in due course.
I like the flowers! Have a great day!

Hi Elyse,
I love it. Here in Guilford all the cute little farm stands have the honor system. Some are even equipped with scales, you have to weigh your produce and figure out the cost. Our town is strange...half of the time you go to a store they have signs saying, "out back fishing". I love this part of Connecticut.
The swap items you sent are lovely. I am sure anyone would be thrilled to get such pretty treats.
I take my finds out to the side of the house for painting. I often wonder if my neighbors think it is strange that I'm always painting stuff. I have to shop your etsy store soon. A friend of mine at work needs a special present.

Elyse- Is that gal not smart using painted Starbucks cups for her bouquets. Makes for a good excuse to go get a cup of coffee so she would have a cup for her next bouquet!

Thank you for sharing the little bee sentiment!! so cute!

I am so looking forward to seeing your blogiversay giveaway!! Just love your things- one of these days I am going to have some extra dimes to come over and shop!! For now I'll just have to drool!

Fresh flowers in coffee cups . . . did it make you smile when you passed these by? The colors are so rich! And they all must look pretty displayed in a cart.

You'll be so busy with those freshly painted treats. But what a fun way to be busy creating such pretties. And you really present them beautifully. It's like eye candy :-)
