the tiny guest

So, I'm walking outside to gather the trash barrels on this damp and drizzly Monday

when I notice something flat and gray at my back door railing. Is it gum or a rock?

It's a toad sitting very still! He is tiny and kind of cute.

Now where did he leave his bicycle?

I never saw a toad that color. In our part of the country they are brown. I bet he liked your pretty flower bouquet.

Wow, he really blends in with the stair rail! I would have freaked out if I had put my hand down near him, and he hopped! ~Lori

I saw the tiniest toad today when I was poking around in my veggie garden... but first things first... you won The Book Blog's giveaway. The hand-painted sand dollar pendant is yours. Please e-mail me your address at thebookblog@aol.com.

It may take an extra day or so for me to retrieve my e-mails as I am having internet "issues".

Elyse that is so cool! You are not going to believe what we found in our front yard (gutter) this morning. A little lobster. Yup, that's what I said. I don't live near the ocean or anything. Can't figure out where it came from. My kids took pictures on their phones, If I can figure out how to download them I'll post a picture.
Crazy day. My little lobster is no way near as cute as your little guy.

Hi Elyse:

You should have looked for his "motor car". We are huge fans here of the Ichabod story and Mr. Toad (disney).

Really, how cute.
