valentine's petite inspiration box swap

It seems safe enough to post photos of what I sent my partners for Heather's Petite Inspiration Box Swap since I mailed my packages a week ago. So funny because it wasn't until viewing photos close-up that I discovered forgetting the "s" in "inspired." I did fix the boxes but didn't have time for a second photo shoot.

Another behind-the-scenes story is that I was feeling very intimidated about the swap after reading a post over at Tales from an OC Cottage. Sweet Holly picked up on this from a comment I'd left and emailed me right away to boost my confidence. I felt much better and got busy creating the boxes. Thank you, Holly!

I tried to fill matchboxes both petit and grand with lots of pretty treasures.

If all this sounds like fun to you, I believe Heather is planning another swap in the near future.

  4. Your boxes are beautiful!! I love how wonderfully shabby chic they look :) It was so sweet of you to make a personalized mini box inside each one with a little notepad!! How sweet of Holly to pick you up like that. :) I often find myself having the same feelings! But there are so many people out there who also admire *your* work for its beauty and because it comes from your heart :)

  21. Always loads of inspiration at your cottage Elyse; I haven't popped in for a while so there's lots to catch up on. I'm certainly grabbing a new pot of white paint from the local store tomorrow and anything that looks dowdy around the house will be refreshed. Thanks for the ideas. Eli.

I love your little boxes, oh my goodness, I need welcome swap gifts at an art weekend I am attending in April and I wish I could give one to each girl! I still don't know how many are going . . . it could be upwards of 24 to 36 OR MORE! UGH!
    But wouldn't that be fun?
I just love your comments each and every time you come visit me! We have to do a swap GIRL! Maybe something for the 4th of July? ? ?

  32. Very pretty. I peeked down and saw your sewing adventure. That was me until about a month ago. I now have a machine (that I have been waiting for all my life!) that actually sews properly when I press the pedal. I'm in heaven!

I'm so glad CC won! (a thank you to the number generator gods.)

  34. You make the sweetest little boxes and filled them with lots of crafty trinkets. Don't know why you would feel intimated. I found myself saving a matchbox the other day thanks to you. Of course, it's so small I'm thinking, what the heck am I gonna put in it? :) Have a great day! Tammy

  35. Darling little boxes, sweet Elyse! (LOVE all of mine)! Looks like it sure was a wonderful swap to be part of!!! I had to giggle when I saw the thread jumble (is that a word? LOL!) My sewing machine has done that many times and I hate when that happens! The valance turned out so cute! You are doing a great job on their room! You sweet little Mommy!

  42. Sooo wonderful! And so many fine treasures inside. Sigh.
I'm confused. Why would you, sweet Elyse who is my mentor-guru-muse, ever need a boost of confidence? I LOVE what you make!!!
OK, so here's my little shop update. I received my order of gorgeous vintage millinery flowers and I'm painting the boxes to create new fairy keepsake boxes. I'm having so much fun! Still no idea when I'll open online, but I'm loving every minute getting "back to work". :)
    Sending you HUGS,
