the oilcloth is in -- and on

Just about a month ago, I posted seeking opinions about oilcloth. I received so many helpful and appreciated comments and as you can see, went with red polka dots on white.

I ordered the oilcloth from fellow Etsy seller Oilcloth Addict, and was so pleased with the customer service.

Hardware source: Anthropologie

Because I am prone to being a bit fickle when it comes to decor, I chose to adhere the oilcloth to the underside of the table with easily removable blue painter's tape as opposed to duct tape or even staples.

I seem to be dotting each room with a bit of red these days.

Someday new chair pad cushions will be on the list. I did attempt to sew some and came pretty close. A story for another time ...

Thankful for the sunny spring weather today.

  14. Hi, that looks fab. I love it and the glass knob you added. Your whole kitchen looks great. Have you looked at Cath Kidston's oilcloths? Don't. It's too tempting and the shipping is high to the U.S. But, it's gorgeous!

  15. Ohmygosh, I looooove that oilcloth. I have some old oilcloth but it's dark and I want a light one. I went to her website but can't get it to send an email. I guess I'll just have to order some and hope there is enough yardage in the one I want. Darling, chick....

  19. Elyse, You oilcloth covered table is so cheery. It reminds me of the table in my grandma's kitchen where I would help her make pies and cookies, eat open-faced Danish sandwiches for Sunday suppers, and eat dinners with my brother and cousins when we had to eat at an "childen's table." Oh the fond memories I have from sitting at that table. Grandma's oilcloth was plain white, but I love your red polka dots.

  21. Hello! Why, you're quite wonderful! So cheerful and perky. I must have been poking around in your cottage for, at least, half and hour and never noticed till now. My, how time flies! However, I'm, also, fuddy headed; so, I think this is all I shall say. Oooo! Except, I think that I'll follow along with the rest of the herd if you don't mind. = )

P.S. I am saying something else. I found you through your pleasant comment to the Duchess of Tea.

I have wanted to have some pillows made from oilcloth to put on wicker chairs outside. I have never really seen any for sale. I don't sew so guess I will just keep looking. I am glad you are having some sunshine. Have a fun filled, happy weekend, dear friend! Vicki
