pink + mint + red

Each time I visit Torie Jayne's blog, I just GASP over the decorating ideas she compiles and presents.

This photo makes me want to wrap my table in oilcloth and add little pops of red. (How would I adhere the cloth so that it could be removable? Secret duct tape?)

Love these bright color combinations from PiP Studio (another pick from Torie Jayne)

But back to pink + mint + red . . .

I nearly fell over (or off a tiny chair) when I saw these ornaments yesterday at the Martha Stewart section of Kmart. They are part of the Festive Confections line.

GASP! How completely adorable! I like the tripling of the satin roses.
Note to self: Add satin roses to Michaels shopping list

As sweet as these "novelty ornaments" would be on a tree, I plan to display them someplace in my kitchen or dining room. Maybe hung on the wall or from the chandelier by ribbons? Any ideas are welcome and appreciated, as always!

  14. OK, this is a super long link, but copy and paste it and it will be so easy. As soon as I saw your post, this other post from another blog stuck in my head and I had to search it out to find it. I know your tiny chairs aren't big chairs, but maybe they could be arranged in a frame-type thing to represent this -http://bakowbabble.blogspot.com/2009/08/no-empty-chairs.html Just a thought and if you use that thought, then you should have a giveaway of something cute that you make and I'll win it! OK, not really. Cute chairs and cute colors!! ♥

  21. Hi Elyse, Thank you for your sweet words about my blog, you could try folding in the fabric at the corners and fixing together using poppers or velcro on the oil cloth to secure, so you can take the table cloth on and off.
    I love the cute chairs!
    Have a sweet day! x

  25. Hi Elyse!

Perfect timing on your post since I'm just now adding little touches of red at my house. :) I also plan to paint a few items robin's egg blue (my fav) and minty green. Unfortunately, Hubby is not a pink-kinda-guy. LOL

I love the little chair ornaments & your idea to hang them from a chandelier. Other ideas? Hey - they'd look great just about anywhere!!!

    Have a great day,
    Zuzu

  28. Those little chair ornaments from Martha Stewart are adorable! They closed most of the K-Marts near me. But these little cuties might be worth the drive. Couldn't you use Velcro to attach the oil cloth? My grandma used to have oil cloth covering her kitchen table.

  32. I just painted my chairs... now I'm thinking they need to be pale pink. I didn't read the comments, maybe someone's already suggested elastic for the oil cloth?

  33. I've heard that you can attach fabric with starch as glue. When you want it off, just wash it away!
