SWOON: pale and interesting

I have a Country Home magazine from February 2009, that I revisit almost weekly to pour over the article, fresh vanilla. The pages give a tour of the country home of Atlanta Bartlett and her family.

I enjoy looking at Atlanta's adorably ruddy-faced and coolly named boys, her simple style, her unexpected sparkling touches (a disco ball in the living room). Little did I originally know that Atlanta is the author of many home dècor books, all illustrating her easy and elegant style.

Atlanta has just launched the beautifully presented online shop Pale and Interesting. I am on a self-imposed spending freeze but a girl can look ... and SWOON. Here are some favorites:

Sigh ...

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Also, THANK YOU so much for the sweetest comments ever on my blogthday giveaway post. Reading everyone's messages is like sitting with a stack of birthday cards. I'm overwhelmed! For anyone who hasn't entered, there is still time. Click here for details.

  6. Yes, swoon! I bookmarked it so I can go back and look. Last month I seemed to be on an eBay binge. You know, the steel boot is hot and I hate to go outside (excuses, excuses...) Yesterday my husband gets my Paypal bill. He says: "Bought a lot from eBay last month, huh?" "Uh, yeah." I am trying hard to break my habit. Haven't bought a think in weeks. I need to go on a self-imposed spending freeze. Of course he ordered and just got in a hair brush that cost $89 from England. Now he's a doctor; does he think this will preserve what's left of his hair? (He's 58) Hasn't that ship maybe already sailed??? Well, I'm keeping mum. Don't want him saying anything about my spending habits!

  23. Elyse! I posted that same first pic on my blog back when the mag came out! I really wanted to cut down some apple branches and do a floor vase too but that's when I sprained my back! I "had" to just sit outside and admire my apple blossoms instead. ♥

  29. Thank you so much. How many visitors do you have coming by weekly and how do you do it all. I want to have a great personal connection but I get busier and busier by the week and I'm still trying to get caught up from a couple weeks ago when I was so sick.
