My kitchen windowsill

I spend a lot of time at my kitchen sink.

So of course I want it (need it) to be pretty.

I was ready to remove this soffit over the kitchen sink until I played around with adding a row of chandelier crystals and layers of curtains.

Small vessels make just-right vases for buttercups

and clippings.

This little pot from So Shabby Pink helped kick-off bringing Shabby and Romantic elements into my kitchen. It was GASP at first sight!

  1. Hi Elyse! Your windowsill lookd so pretty! I love how you hung the utensils above the window! The chandelier crystals were the perfect touch too! I could not live in a home without a window at the sink! I love to stand there and look outside. Especially now that the weather is prettier :)

  5. Oh My! Love your window! The curtains are just great!! I'm still up in the air on curtains for my bedroom. I went with more english rose florals so the lighter ones like yours aren't going to work any more. I found fabric at JoAnns but haven't committed! Got my shabnets they are perfect! (oh thanks for the gifts!)THANKS! Love your Kitchen!

  7. Elyse,

Your kitchen window looks just like my windows. Love those curtains. I have them in every room in my house! Really!

BTW, I don't think I have the patience for Pink Fairy Parties. I love children, but in small visits! lol

  8. So, so pretty! We all need a pretty environment to do such a mundane chore. If you're like me you spend so much time there that it really does need to be pretty.

  13. Ooooh i'm so jealous. I don't have a window above my sink and it doesn't seem natural. Perhaps I should make a pretend one with a pretty view 'hehe'!

  28. Hey Big Sis!

How's your week going? I hope well!

Your kitchen window is just gorgeous. I wish mine were half as pretty. Perhaps one day, when I live in another apartment or house. Right now, only a brick wall, painted a shocking shade of white, stares back at me from behind my kitchen sink. Yuck!

    Have a fabulous Friday!

  30. Elyse your kitchen window is lovely. I certainly can relate to one wanting beauty to surround them. Adding the crystals, pretty floral curtains and flowers on the shelf created a simplistic yet elegant little space. Well done!

    Have a lovely weekend!
