doll delight

Have you ever enjoyed making something so much that you almost can't stop?

I have been making little clothespin dolls and I sneak in small applications throughout the day.

Here is how it all began ... again ...

For the I thought of you swap, Debi sent me a box of vintage clothespins so for our birthday swap, I made Debi a little doll using one of the clothespins and included a photo on my presents revealed! blog post. Recently blogging friend Teri saw the doll and asked if I could make dolls and doll kits for her to give as presents. How fun!

So the little assembly line began ...

But I wanted to experiment on other dolls. Things like: how to get the hair right, how to make their clothes, how to draw their faces ...

Now I can't stop! I plan to make more for my online shops.

I made this one when I was about 12. My sister Dede found it and gave it to me to illustrate that I have always been creative.
(Sweetie Dede)

Teri, here is a sneak peek at the girls. They are awaiting their tulle skirts and embellishments. I'll be sure to keep you posted.

I actually posted earlier today to announce Aimee as the winner of my giveaway. While I have a free moment, I couldn't help but post again. Thank you for indulging me! I'm not very good with will power these days -- dolls, posts, cookies -- what's a girl to do? Enjoy!

  18. Hi Elyse,
Your dollies are precious. You are such a creative gal. I bet that when your are putting them together it's just like playing dolls and dressing them up huh? I love it...Here's a little secret. I love dolls any kind, but especially cloth and paper dolls and you can find me once in a while playing with them...he he he. I love to change their cloths. I guess I'm still a little girl at heart. Have a wonderful evening.

    Hugs,
    ♥Ana

  20. OMG....I haven't seen one of these made up in years! I made them way back in school as a class project ~ I picked South America and dressed up my "doll" in what I thought were authentic looking clothes. LOL! Your pink "dolls" are sooo sweet. Please add some to your shop so they can find many new homes.

Your Pixie's comment on my blog is spot on and too funny! You do get my sense of humor (should I apologize for that?). And I appreciate your thinking of me, although I'm sorry that your pretty pink creations might be associated with my sick sense of humor, lol!

  35. These are so precious! Can't wait to get them. I have an idea for them...how about naming your little girls and giving them a brief little story. I did that once for 12 sock monkeys I made for my son's first birthday party! Everyone enjoyed the little stories about their monkeys. Your pics of them are awesome too! Terri
