Decision '08

This vanity table (thank you, Shellie) is about to get a cottage-style makeover. It is lightweight and has beautiful details.

Front-runner color choices are: white, pale aqua, or both in wide stripes. Please take my latest poll and cast your vote!

Following Up

Here is some follow-up to a couple of my recent posts. First, the three dark blue mirrors (10/20: Mirror, Mirror . . . Mirror) have lightened up a bit. As you can see, two have been painted pink, stenciled and slightly glittered. The other has been painted in layers, distressed, and can be used for notes or photos with the addition of two clothespins.

And what about the sign that I made as a gift and then couldn't part with? (10/16: Trash to Tinkered Treasure) Thank you to everyone who voted for me to keep it for myself. I was going to, too, but have decided that today I will surprise my friend with it. (Hope she likes it!)

Lost "Treasures"

Today I took a little roadtrip to Fairhaven, Massachusetts (about 38 miles from my home) to go to "vintage chic dècor shop" Enchanted Treasures. Turns out today was its Moving Sale and everything was 50% off. (Gasp!) The owner Roberta mentioned that after eight years she will now be selling from her online store only. Pictured are the beautiful pieces I purchased today at amazing prices. Visiting her store was always a treat. I'm sure I will visit her online store even more!

Housewarming

It's a damp, chilly day here in Rhode Island. Time to pull out the blankets; although this quilt can always be found in my living room. My friend Shellie made it for me as a housewarming gift. I remember being stunned when I first saw it because the colors were exactly what I had in mind for the new living room. "Shellie, how did you know?" "Well last time I saw you I was wearing a brown skirt and an aqua top and you told me those were the colors you were planning for the living room." Amazing! Shellie will be my partner-in-cottage-crime for our first-ever craft fair in December. Details to follow!

Mirror, Mirror . . . Mirror

Yesterday my husband and I began an impromtu basement clean-up. Hours later we wrapped for the day, considering our efforts "Phase I." In addition to some cleared space, I now have a box-full of things to tinker with! Pictured are three mirrors. Stay tuned for their future transformation!

Trash to Tinkered Treasure

I made this sign from a trash-picked find with the intentions of giving it away (but I'm growing quite attached to it!). What to do? Please take the poll! (Note: Thank you for voting!)

First Snowflake

Pictured is some of what I have been working on lately. I'm getting ready to be a first-time vendor at the Snowflake Bazaar at my sons' school. I've never embarked on anything like this before (unless a yard sale and lemonade stands count). Wish me luck and feel free to comment with pricing ideas.

An Apple a Day

Last week was rough for my iMac and me. Neither of us were working quite right and so the iMac went to the Apple Store and I went to the doctor. Loaded with a new motherboard and an Rx, we are ramping-up to being our regular selves. More postings and photos to come ...

Tinkered Trousers

My No-Sew Pirate Costume idea is today's headline at Kidoinfo.com. This project can be completed in minutes and makes great use of kids' clothing that is just too worn to pass along. Kidoinfo is a wonderful resource of creative ideas and events. Thanks, Anisa!
